Low-cost airlines fly to Burgas in 2020

In the beginning of June the Mayor of Burgas D. Nikolov announced that the local airport cancels and reschedules 150 flights from European countries originally scheduled for July. Such measures are associated with an increase of number of patients with coronavirus in the city.

It is still unknown when it will be possible to fly to Burgas from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Israel and other countries.

At the moment charter flights from Russia to Sofia are being organized on a regular basis. Charters can be used by people with a temporary or permanent residence permit in Bulgaria.

It is announced that the external borders of the EU will be officially open on July 1.

Earlier several low-cost airlines were reported to decide focusing on flights in 2020 to sunny Burgas.

The Irish low cost airline Ryanair has announced a new destination – Gdansk (Poland) – Burgas (Bulgaria). This is in addition to the traditional flights to the Polish cities of Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice, Rzeszow, as well as to the Slovenian city of Bratislava. It is planned that the first flights will connect Polish and Slovenian cities with Burgas in June 2020.

Flights from Burgas to Vienna (Austria) will begin a little earlier – in April 2020. The schedule of flights from Tel-Aviv (Israel), Germany, Latvia, Lithuania has not yet been approved. 

From the end of May 2020, it will be possible to get to Burgas by jet2.com airline from several cities of United Kingdom. These are Belfast, Birmingham, London, Manchester, New –Castle, East Midlands, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow. 

Hungarian low cost airlines Wizzair offers flights from London (Great Britain), Warsaw, Katowice (Poland), Budapest (Hungary). The planes connect England with the Burgas International airport year-round. Flights to other destinations will open in June.

Low cost company SkyUp announced a new route from Ukrainian Lviv to the Bulgarian Burgas. According to the preliminary information, ten flights will be organized in the summer 2020. One-way ticket price is expected to be $ 53.

The complete information about charter flights from Russia is not yet available. Similar to the last year, it is expected that regular flights will be operated by S7, Aeroflot, Rossiya, Bulgarian Air. S7 flies year-round. Bulgarian Air will begin serving the Burgas-Moscow destination in June 2020. One-way tickets can be bought now at a price of Euro 35.
